The quilt is definitely an improvement in keeping warm and am glad I purchased it! the Lawson hammock tent has extended my backpacking as it is by far the most comfortable sleeping arrangement in the back woods. Regarding the quilt, I wonder how it will work in the rain. will water puddle up on top of the quilt so when I lay in the tent am I getting wet? Also, to eliminate an additional stuff sack I will be making a larger hammock tent sack to hold both the tent and the quilt. this would be a nice product for Lawson to offer with the quilt.
It is durable and adjustable, but if you want to use this with a regular hammock you have to put carabiner on each side and you have to put a 10inch bungee cord on each side of the hammock then connect the carabiners to the bungee cord to get a perfect hang, I tried to describe it to the best of my ability, if it is confusing just read it again, and if it is still confusing just show it to someone that knows about hammock and they will explain what im saying trust me... if you do what I said... it will be a great buy. What some people might have a hard time with is how fluffy it can be when trying to get it back in the bag, but the secret is fold it in half then tightly roll it up... it will be a little long for the bag, but once you stick it in then just take the part thats hanging out and bend and stuff in the bag. But if you really want to save space and you have a nice camping bag, just put it in the bottom of your bag without the stuff sack, it will be like a blanket.
Love that it is light, not loving how it can’t compact even with a compression sac
Bought this for my outdoorsman son. He absolutely loves it. Sleeps outside every chance he gets. Will be taking it on the road with him for early Spring camping.
Definitely needed for winter camping adds to an already perfect hammock!
Good product. Very easy to install in the hammock.
The underquilt is great nice and warm and it keeps the cold air off of you. Would have given it a 5 star but the bag it goes in needs to be a bit bigger besides that it was a nother good buy from Lawson
The quilt itself is made of nice materials. It feels like a quality piece and you can definitely feel the extra insulation when laying in the hammock. My only issue was setting it up. It's supposed to slide on the ends of the spreader bars, which seems easy enough. My loops were so small on mine that I couldn't get 3 of the sides to slide on. They look like they were sewn to close together. It took me almost 20 minutes to get it on finally. Not very practical if you're standing outside in the cold. I wouldn't want to have to be there 45 mins setting everything up just to relax. Other than that issue it's a good piece to have with you. Be aware it is quite large also. Larger than my sleeping bag for sure.
